Gemotions

The old house hummed with a strange energy, or so it felt to Sarah. Every shadow seemed to lengthen, every sound amplified. She found herself checking the locks obsessively, even though she knew they were secure. She was trying to unpack, but kept finding excuses to delay the task.

She had been exploring the attic, the air thick with dust and the scent of forgotten memories. In a far corner, obscured by a stack of old trunks, she noticed a change in the color of the wall. She pushed the trunks aside.

There, behind the faded wallpaper, was a hidden door. It was almost perfectly flush with the wall. A small, almost invisible knob was the only indication of its existence. She reached for it, her hand shaking.
