Gemotions

The ocean's roar seemed to amplify the silence in the house, a deafening paradox. Olivia sat on the porch swing, the letter trembling in her hand. It was a letter to her parents, written after a devastating argument, filled with words she never had the courage to speak.

A tremor ran through her body, and she wrapped her arms around herself, as if trying to physically contain the turmoil within. The salty air did little to soothe her; instead, it seemed to exacerbate the tension. The sky turned grey, reflecting her inner state.

She closed her eyes, the familiar weight of the past pressing down, making it hard to take the next breath. She hated that she'd let this go unsaid.
