Gemotions

The presentation was hours away, and Sarah felt a cold dread creeping into her bones. She had prepared meticulously, but the thought of standing in front of the board made her palms sweat and her breath catch in her throat. She needed to project confidence.

A voice, surprisingly, broke through her thoughts. "Sarah, you wouldn't have gone to Camp Evergreen, would you?" It was Mark, her coworker from the other side of the building. She felt her face go pale.

She could only manage a nod. "Yes." She tried to take a deep breath, but it felt like a constricted gasp.

Mark smiled. "Wow, that place was a blast! I spent every summer there. Do you remember the archery range?" Sarah felt the walls closing in. Her vision blurred.
