The cold, impersonal language of the eviction notice sent a shiver down Kevin’s spine. He felt a sudden chill, despite the late afternoon warmth. He tried to focus, but the words seemed to dance on the page. His vision blurred, he had to take a deep breath.

He went to the mirror, looking at his own reflection. His face was pale, his eyes wide. He looked away, not wanting to see the fear etched on his features. He felt a wave of nausea wash over him, his stomach churning.

He needed to eat something, but the thought of food made his stomach turn further. He sank into a chair, his body feeling heavy and leaden. He felt a growing sense of disorientation, as if the ground beneath him were shifting. The future seemed a dark and menacing void.
