The afternoon sun streamed through the dusty windows of the old library, illuminating particles dancing in the air. Sarah carefully picked up the folder. It was tucked away in a section of her grandfather’s personal effects. The faded label said "Important Papers."

She slid the letter out. Her grandfather’s signature, stark and bold, at the bottom. It was a letter of resignation from his role as a government official. Her gut twisted as she read his words, filled with disillusionment.

A familiar tension settled in her shoulders. She’d always admired him, believed him to be incorruptible. Now, reading his words, filled with regret and disappointment, she felt the ground shift beneath her feet. She stared at the paper, and her vision swam.
