Gemotions

The sound of the falling tree, a deafening crack and rumble, sent a shock of cold through Emily's body. She froze, her hands flying up to her mouth. She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. It had taken down the phone lines, and some branches had landed on her car.

She closed her eyes, trying to block out the image of the damage. Her thoughts raced, a jumbled mess of worries and anxieties. How would she get to work? What about her insurance? How much was this going to cost?

Her chest felt constricted, her breath shallow. She ran her hands across her face, needing to wipe away the sweat that had suddenly appeared. She could feel her heart racing.
