He stared at the package, a sudden chill running down his spine. The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. The innocuous brown paper felt threatening. It was from Lisa Miller, a student who had a knack for causing problems.

He took a large breath. His hands began to perspire. He had avoided running into Lisa for years. What did she want? Did she know something about him that he did not?

He wished he could simply vanish. He felt pinned in his chair. He hated this feeling.
