Gemotions

He gripped the steering wheel, his knuckles white. The city blurred around him, a kaleidoscope of lights and motion, but he was focused solely on the hospital ahead. The journey had been a blur, a race against a clock he couldn't see. His mouth felt dry, and he kept swallowing, trying to moisten his parched throat. He felt the need to keep going.

He finally pulled into the parking lot, and there she was, standing near the entrance, her head bowed. He knew that stance, the feeling of being overwhelmed and alone.

He got out of the car, his legs feeling unsteady. He walked towards her, his footsteps echoing in the silence.

“Are you alright?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. She looked up, and he saw the same fear reflected in her eyes.
