Gemotions

Her eyes kept darting around, never resting. The delivery person had been gone for hours, yet she still felt as if she was being watched. The lilies were beautiful, but they felt menacing. She hated the way they sat in the living room, their white petals staring back at her.

She touched her neck, checking for her necklace, a small, silver pendant. Good. It was still there. She closed the curtains, the sudden darkness making her jump.

She went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water, her hand shaking so much that some of it spilled on the floor. She sat down, breathing heavily.

She felt like she was trapped. The flowers had created an invisible cage. The uncertainty, the not knowing, the feeling of vulnerability… it was consuming her.
