Gemotions

I can’t believe it. I didn’t know this was happening. My life, laid bare, for everyone to read. The audacity of it! I’m furious. But…the way the writer described the trip to Italy, the way they wrote about my ex-wife, with such a sense of longing.

I found myself staring at the pages, my breath catching in my throat. I couldn’t look away. I ran a hand over my jeans, the material suddenly too tight. I felt a strange stirring inside.

I glanced over to the window, the city lights reflecting in my eyes. I wanted to throw the book across the room, but I couldn't tear my gaze away.
