Gemotions

The dingy pawn shop seemed to amplify every sound, every smell. He spotted it instantly – his grandmother's ring, glinting under the dim light. A wave of heat washed over him, starting at the base of his neck. He swallowed hard.

"That one," he said, his voice husky. His hands felt clumsy as he gestured towards it. The shopkeeper, a woman with a severe expression, retrieved it. He couldn't take his eyes off of the ring.

He paid the price, barely registering the details. He felt a pressure building inside him, a delicious tension that thrummed through his veins. He had to leave. Now.

Outside, the sunlight seemed almost blinding. He turned the ring over in his palm. A delicious thrill coursed through him. He felt an undeniable urge, a powerful sensation he had never experienced before.
