The email arrived, a digital siren call: "Just saw you at the park. Remember that bench? I'm sitting on it." A tremor of excitement, a fluttery feeling in her stomach, took hold of Clara. Her breath hitched in her throat. She glanced at her reflection, smoothing down the front of her shirt. She felt a magnetic pull drawing her toward him. There was a lightness, a buoyancy, she hadn't felt in months. She practically ran out the door.
