"Okay, so here's how you handle a client complaint," David instructed, gesturing towards the computer screen. Across from him, the new trainee, a young woman named Sarah, listened intently. The gentle rise and fall of her chest, the way the sunlight caught her hair, was a constant distraction. He found it difficult to concentrate.

He went to the whiteboard, and as he explained the steps, he noticed Sarah's eyes on him. He felt a sudden tightening in his chest, a quickening of his pulse. He swallowed, attempting to appear professional.

He found himself speaking faster, trying to get through the training. He wanted this to be over. Yet, he lingered over examples, going into greater depth than he normally would. He felt a need to impress, to captivate.

"Any questions?" he asked, his voice strained. He prayed she wouldn’t.
