Gemotions

The interview was over. Both Ben and Chris, friends since childhood, had given it their all. Now, they were back in the car, the silence between them heavy. Ben kept glancing at Chris, who was gripping the steering wheel.

Ben felt a weird tightening in his core, the kind he only ever got when he was nervous, but this was different. He couldn’t explain it. The tension in the car was palpable, and the subtle scent of Chris's cologne in the confined space was having a pronounced effect on him.

He was suddenly acutely aware of Chris's hands, strong and capable, navigating the car. He wanted to touch them, to feel them. He closed his eyes and had to swallow hard.

He cleared his throat, trying to break the spell, but the feeling lingered, an insistent thrumming in his veins.
