Gemotions

The rain hammered against the windows, a relentless rhythm. Inside, the house felt cozy, bathed in the soft light of the lamps. David was reading on the sofa, a book in his lap, and then the phone chimed. He looked at it, and then he paused.

He moved to the kitchen, and her eyes followed him. She had a feeling. When he came back, the same, familiar expression was on his face. She felt a heat rise in her chest.

He did not know she was watching. The way he walked, the way he carried himself, the mystery and the lie, all fueled a desire she had tried to extinguish. She wanted to know. Her fingers itched, and she wanted to touch him. She wanted to know all his secrets.
