The fluorescent lights of the library hummed, a soundtrack to Maya’s growing unease. She'd found it, her name splashed across the top of the webpage: "Teen Angst Unfiltered: The Diary of Maya Sharma." Her cheeks burned. She wanted to vanish. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the silence of the room. She could feel a flush creeping up her neck, a heat that seemed to ignite her very skin.

Her fingers trembled as she scrolled, each entry a fresh stab of embarrassment. She recognized the scent of the pages, the crinkle of paper against her fingers. It was mortifying. Her breath hitched. She felt a tingling sensation in her stomach, a fluttery feeling that made her shift uncomfortably in her chair.
