He stared at the page, the words a mockery. His work. *Their* name. A wave of heat washed over Thomas, a heat that started in his chest and spread outwards, making his skin tingle. He felt his breathing quicken, his pulse hammering in his ears. He wanted to scream.

He ran a hand through his hair, then slammed it on the desk. He felt a strange tingling sensation in his groin. He wanted to smash something, to break something.

He stood up abruptly, his chair screeching against the floor. He needed to get out, to walk, to… something. He would go outside and let the world consume him.
