The paper crackled in his hands as he read the review for the tenth time. "Overcooked," the critic sneered. "A culinary wasteland." He dropped the paper, letting it flutter to the floor. A prickling sensation began on the back of his neck and moved down his spine.

He needed to fix it. *Now*. He kicked a stray box across the kitchen floor. He grabbed a clean pan, the metal gleaming, and slammed it onto the burner. The sudden, violent gesture thrilled him.
