Gemotions

The scent of stale coffee and sun-baked plastic filled the air. She nearly missed it. Tucked away under a chipped tea set was the object of her longing. Her childhood bear.

A jolt, a current, ran through her. She felt a desperate need. She moved forward.

"How much for the bear?" She asked, her voice little more than a whisper. The old man running the sale looked at her, his eyes twinkling.

"He's a dollar, sweetheart. Someone's loved him, that's for sure."

She paid. She held the bear, and felt a rush of something new. She left the yard sale and headed back to her home.
