Gemotions

The attic was stifling, the air thick with dust and the ghosts of forgotten things. Mark, a new homeowner, began his expedition. He had been told the previous residents were eccentric. He discovered a trunk tucked away in the corner. He opened the lid.

Inside, he found a collection of old letters tied together with a ribbon, a silk scarf, and a handful of dried flowers. He untied the ribbon and unfolded the first letter. The words spoke of secret meetings and passionate kisses. His pulse quickened. His breathing became shallow.

He picked up the silk scarf, running it between his fingers. He imagined the scent of the woman who had worn it. He felt a building sensation in his loins. He closed his eyes for a moment, letting the imagery wash over him.
