The humid air of the alley clung to Leo's skin as he crouched, the grimy brick practically radiating heat. He fumbled with the clasp, his fingers clumsy, his breath catching in his throat. Inside, a thick wad of bills stared back. His pulse was hammering, a frantic rhythm against his ribs. He imagined what he could do with it, a torrent of possibilities that made his head swim. The way his jeans felt suddenly too tight, the sudden heat blossoming low in his belly… he swallowed hard, trying to regain control.
