The email notification popped up on her laptop, a beacon against the sterile white background. Sarah didn't bother to close her work-related tabs. Instead, she clicked on the link. The pictures, the promises, they were irrelevant. She scrolled.

The air in her small office seemed to thicken. She felt a heat rising, a tightness in her chest she couldn't account for. The image of the gym, the scent of sweat and anticipation, the feel of his hand on hers – they all hit her with unexpected force.

She leaned back in her chair, the leather cool against her thighs. She stared at the ceiling, her breath coming a little faster than usual. She realized that the thought of seeing him, of dancing with him again, held an undeniable allure.
