Gemotions

The TV screen flickered with the advertisement, a slick commercial for "Midnight Magic Muffins." The recipe, her late husband’s beloved bran muffins, was undeniably altered and stolen. A tingling sensation spread across her scalp, and she felt a tremor in her hands. The room felt suddenly small, the air thick.

The actors in the commercial smiled, oblivious to the fact they were endorsing her life's work. She bit down hard on her lip, a wave of heat washing over her. She knew she should be angry, but mostly she felt a deep, almost painful, longing.

She stood slowly, reaching out and turning off the television with deliberate action.
