"No, I don't want a pet!" Sarah's voice was a tight coil, but her body language gave her away. He could feel the tension, the heat. He'd been pleading all day. He looked at her, and the thought of her, the way she smelled, the way she moved, was too much. He felt the blood rise, a flush spread over his skin. He wanted her. He wanted her so bad.

He knew he was pushing her, and pushing the situation too far, but he couldn't seem to stop himself. "They're great companions!" His voice was a strained whisper. His gaze swept over her, taking in every detail.

He found himself walking toward her, the space between them closing. The argument about the pet had become irrelevant. All that mattered was the woman in front of him, and the way she made him feel. He looked into her eyes. The silence stretched, a heavy weight in the air, a silent promise.
