He stared, captivated. His grandfather, the gruff and taciturn patriarch, caught in a moment of pure bliss with someone else entirely. The photos were a revelation. His hands felt clammy. A deep flush warmed his face. He felt a sudden, urgent desire to be alone.

His mind raced, piecing together the fragments of a life hidden in plain sight. He felt a thrumming sensation, a tightening in his lower belly, as if his own secrets were beginning to surface. He knew he had to leave, and find a place to touch himself.
