Gemotions

The air was thick, heavy with the scent of perfume and… something else. Michael found himself staring at Jessica, who was trying not to make eye contact. He imagined her under the fluorescent lights, the subtle curves of her body. His heart rate had quickened.

“This is probably the worst day ever,” he said, his voice a little shaky. He ran his hand over his forehead, trying to cool himself down. The words felt hollow.

“Tell me about it,” she replied, her voice soft. He wanted her to notice the change in him.
