Gemotions

The research paper lay between them, a testament to shared obsession. The same equations, the same conclusions, the same… everything. A strange tingling sensation began in his chest, radiating outwards. He shifted uncomfortably in his chair.

She tapped the paper, her fingernail tracing the complex formulas. The air grew heavy, almost suffocating. He watched her, a bead of sweat trickling down his temple.

"Well," she said, her voice husky, "this is… unexpected." He felt his own pulse quicken. The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. He found himself wanting to reach out, to touch her hand, to feel her reaction.

He swallowed hard. "Unbelievable," he managed to say. The heat within him intensified.
