The news hit her like a punch to the gut. Her essay, the one where she had exposed the most vulnerable parts of herself, now public knowledge. "A Journey of Self-Discovery," the headline proclaimed. She felt a jolt, a physical shock that ran through her body. Her breath hitched.

She stared at the screen, her mind racing. She could almost feel the weight of each word, each carefully crafted sentence. Her palms grew damp. She ran a hand over her lips, feeling the dryness there. She was almost surprised to find that the response was positive.
