The drawing was undeniably his. The bright orange, blocky figure, named 'Fuzzy' by her niece, looked like it had been pulled directly from his own childhood sketchbooks. He didn't want to talk about it.

He kept his gaze averted, staring at the floorboards while his sister beamed with maternal pride. He felt a throbbing ache in his temples, a dull pressure behind his eyes. He longed to be anywhere else.

He mumbled something about an appointment and quickly made his exit, leaving behind the evidence of his past. The weight of his secret felt crushing, a heavy burden he carried alone.
