Gemotions

The band concert was tonight. Robert remembered Mr. Davies, the music teacher, with a mixture of fear and regret. He'd been terrible at playing the trumpet, and the memory of his squeaky notes during the school concert haunted him.

He wished he could avoid the whole thing. He imagined the way his son looked up to him and knew he must go. He found a seat in the back row, hoping to fade into the crowd.

The concert began, and Robert focused on the music. Then, he heard the familiar booming voice. Mr. Davies was addressing the audience. He shifted uncomfortably. His son's beaming face seemed to call him out.
