Gemotions

The phone rang. It was the editor. He was furious. The truth had come out, and the author she had hired to publish under the name she wanted, had gone to the press. All her hard work, her ambition, had collapsed under the weight of her deception. She stared at the phone, frozen, as the editor’s voice boomed.

She hung up, her hands trembling. The room spun. Her carefully constructed facade was crumbling, and she was left exposed. She felt the blood drain from her face. She closed her eyes.
