Gemotions

The scent of her perfume, a cheap and familiar vanilla, filled the air. The journal lay open on the pillow. She must have been reading it, there was no other explanation. The room seemed to shrink, closing in on him.

He felt the familiar burn of tears prick behind his eyes, a feeling he tried so hard to hide. His roommate, Olivia, was busy applying makeup, humming along to the music.

He just stood there, speechless.

Olivia finally looked up, her expression one of mild curiosity. "Did you write all that stuff?"

He didn't reply, just turned and ran, the sting in his eyes making it hard to see.
