Gemotions

The damp air of the storage unit settled around Eleanor as she read the letter. It was written to her sister, a searing indictment of their fractured relationship. She’d drafted it when they were both still teenagers. The sheer force of her own bitterness made her stomach churn.

Her hands shook as she folded the letter back into its envelope. She wanted to erase it from existence. She did not want to see it again. The words were a monument to a younger self she despised.

She grabbed the box it was in, and swiftly carried it to the back.
