Gemotions

The cold steel of the elevator door pressed against Clara's back. She felt the blood drain from her face as she remembered the emails. Her colleagues would soon discover the source of the leak, and that she'd been the one. She kept her mouth shut, watching the numbers flicker.

"This is ridiculous," Michael muttered, kicking at the wall. Clara flinched. She hadn't told anyone about her extra-curricular activities, the ones that had led her to where she was.

She focused on her breathing, trying to calm the tremor in her hands. The elevator swayed slightly. She thought about his job, and how she'd betrayed the trust he'd shown her. She hoped to never have to look him in the eyes again.
