Gemotions

The drumming had been cathartic, a release. Then came the sound of the bell. Mrs. Chen stood there, her hands clasped in front of her. Her expression said it all.

He swallowed hard. He felt a flush creep up his neck. He immediately stopped his practice, and set down his drumsticks. He could not make eye contact.

He retreated to the kitchen, avoiding the living room. The drums stood in the corner, silent and accusing. He poured himself a glass of water, and stared out the window. He considered getting rid of the drums.
