Gemotions

He stared at the hydrangeas. He knew they were meant for his sister, but he'd been the one to answer the door. He’d seen the florist's truck pull up and knew what was coming. He'd been the one who had started the entire situation. He swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. He placed the flowers on the kitchen counter, knowing his sister would see them when she got home from work. He turned on the television, the volume turned up way too loud.

He kept glancing at the flowers, each time the guilt intensified.
