The plot revolved around a woman who hid her true desires, clinging to a façade of normalcy. The description of the woman’s secret affair left her breathless. It was all a lie, she felt, every smile, every shared meal. She couldn’t bring herself to respond when he greeted her. The air in the room felt thick, suffocating.
