Gemotions

The weight of the canvas felt suddenly insignificant in comparison to the sudden sensation that enveloped him. He had been sketching in a park, enjoying the afternoon sun, when a woman approached him. She wanted to know more about his work, and as she spoke, she moved, accidentally revealing her shoulder. There, his most experimental piece – the swirling vortex of black and white lines he’d titled "Echoes" – was tattooed.

He felt a deep, unfamiliar thrum in his chest. His pencil slipped from his grasp and rolled onto the grass. He stared, completely transfixed.

She continued to talk, animated and enthusiastic. He couldn't hear her. All he could see was the tattoo.
