He was at a tattoo convention, surrounded by artists and enthusiasts. He was viewing a portfolio when it happened. One of the artists was showing off their work. It was his. The sprawling, intricate landscape he'd painted years ago was now etched on someone’s back.

He felt a sudden and profound disorientation. His vision flickered. He stumbled back a step. His mouth went dry. He struggled to formulate a coherent thought.

The artist looked up, a smile spreading across their face. "Like it? It was a real challenge to do, but I love your style!"

He stood there, frozen, the sounds of the convention fading into a dull roar.
