"Seriously?" Mark gasped, his voice cracking. He saw the familiar avatar on the poster plastered across the bus stop: “StarryEyedSoul”. He had spent every day for the last six months talking to her. And the face on the poster was the spitting image of the girl who had been so comforting when he was going through his divorce.

He felt his stomach lurch. The air felt thin. He had to sit down. He scanned the crowded bus stop, his gaze darting about. There she was, headphones on, humming to herself, waiting for the same bus.

He stumbled backwards, bumping into a trash can. All the details he’d imagined about her, all the fantasies, all the late-night confessions… it was real. He felt as if the world was tilting on its axis.
