The discovery sent a jolt of electricity through Sarah. Searching for her father's old stamp collection, she'd inadvertently opened a portal to her mother's youth. The box in the garage, labeled "My Sarah's Treasures," contained it all.

She picked up a perfectly preserved Valentine's Day card, crafted with glitter and glue. Her own name, written in her mother's familiar hand, was scrawled on the front. A wave of dizziness washed over her.

She touched her chest, as if to calm her racing heart. She read her mother's teacher's notes, each one revealing a bit more about the child her mother used to be. The feeling was bizarre and potent. She felt as though she’d just been given access to some hidden compartment of her mother’s soul.
