The vibrant colors of the art gallery seemed to mock him. James felt a growing pressure in his chest, making it difficult to breathe. The woman next to him, who was explaining how "he" had helped her pick out a sculpture, described the same piece he’d been with her to see. The exact same one. James' heart hammered against his ribs. He felt a burning sensation in his throat. He cleared it. "Wait… what was his favorite drink?" he managed, the words catching in his throat. She looked at him confused, then smiled, and mentioned a drink that was his particular favourite.
