Gemotions

The dog barked, a joyous sound, as he approached the front door. He scooped up the mail, barely glancing at the envelopes. Then he saw it: "Riverside High – 10 Year Reunion." His blood ran cold.

He fumbled with the keys, his fingers clumsy and uncoordinated. He closed the door behind him and leaned against it, the envelope clutched in his hand.

He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to run, to escape the reminder of a time he’d rather forget. He sank to the floor, the invitation lying discarded at his feet. His world seemed to have tilted on its axis.
