Gemotions

The silence in the apartment was shattered by the rhythmic thumping coming from the newly installed fish tank. David stared at it, frozen. Inside, goldfish swam in lazy circles. His roommate, Alex, stood beside it with the utmost satisfaction, a smug expression plastered across his face.

A wave of dizziness washed over him. He felt as though he’d been plunged into icy water. The visual seemed to distort, as if the room itself was underwater.

He groped for the back of the sofa, needing something to hold onto. He had made it clear, numerous times, that he didn't want any pets. This blatant disregard was…unbelievable. He was incapable of uttering a coherent sentence.

"They're called Bubbles and Fin," Alex announced. The goldfish continued their silent swim.
