Gemotions

The sheer volume of the dog's barking was enough to make her jump. She had a strict rule about no pets. Now, a large golden retriever bounded towards her in the hallway, tongue lolling out, barking with the ferocity of an invading army. Her roommate, Jessica, followed the dog, laughing, completely oblivious to her horrified expression.

Her breath came in short, shallow gasps. Her head felt light, a swirling vortex of disbelief. The living room suddenly felt cramped, too small to contain the large dog. It was a betrayal of trust.

She gripped the doorframe, trying to maintain her composure. Every nerve in her body screamed, yet she was unable to utter a sound. It felt as if her vocal cords were frozen.

"Isn't he the sweetest?" Jessica said, oblivious to her plight.
