Gemotions

The garden was his sanctuary. He’d cultivated it for years, a riot of colour and scent, a carefully orchestrated ecosystem. Now, the flowerbeds were rearranged, the roses pruned in an unfamiliar shape, and a collection of colourful, hand-painted gnome statues dotted the lawn. His daughter, Lily, her face streaked with dirt, presented a plate of "flower tea" (water and petals). He could only stare at his daughter and the garden, a jumble of emotions swirling within him. He took a sip, the concoction tasted...interesting. He smiled, a genuine expression that surprised even himself.
