He abruptly sat up straight, his eyes fixing on the screen with sudden intensity. "What…?" James stammered. He hadn't been expecting this. A sense of disorientation washed over him. The house, the place of his youth, available.

His head began to swim. The pictures showed a renovated interior. He found himself gripping his desk with both hands. He felt a sudden, sharp pang of something.

The air seemed to thicken around him. He'd never really dealt with the house's past, or his own. It was a place of innocence and joy, but also of pain. He didn't know how to feel.
