Her breath came in ragged gasps. The title, *Sophia Black: The Echoing Soul*, seemed to hum with an otherworldly resonance. Her hands, clammy and trembling, clutched the book. A feeling she couldn't name swelled in her chest, pushing all the air out. It had been left on her doorstep.

She hesitantly turned the page, the paper feeling fragile beneath her fingertips. The words began to dance before her eyes, each sentence a precise reflection of her innermost thoughts and desires. She felt as though she had been touched by something sacred, something beyond her understanding. She couldn’t look away. Her knees felt like jelly.
