Gemotions

The vibrant, turquoise paint of the van was always the first thing that greeted her each day. Today, nothing. All that remained was an empty space and a lingering, metallic smell. Her breath hitched.

She stood frozen, the ordinary sounds of the neighborhood – a distant lawnmower, the chatter of children – seemed to fade into the background. She felt exposed, vulnerable, as if the very foundations of her routine had been ripped away.

Her gaze drifted upwards, tracing the outline of the sky, trying to find some anchor in the vastness. Everything was in stark relief, the sky was a deep blue.
