He rummaged through the clutter in the basement, searching for a specific photo album. Instead, he found a collection of boxes, each carefully labeled with his name and a grade. He paused, his heart thumping.

He opened the first box, a treasure trove of his past. There was a handmade valentine, a construction paper turkey, and a science experiment on the life cycle of a butterfly. He ran his fingers over the crinkled edges of a faded report card, a rush of memories flooding back.

He felt an unfamiliar lightness, as if a weight he didn’t know he carried had been lifted. The meticulous archiving, the sheer devotion to preserving these pieces of his life… It was simply stunning. He smiled. He wasn't sure how to feel.
